Full Job Description

We are looking for new Board Members who are willing to bring energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. We are a leading learning disability charity based in Glasgow that specialises in providing support and care services for children, young adults and adults who have learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and mental health issues. Our vision is for every person to be supported to live the life they chose whilst our values of Respect, Compassion, Integrity and Excellence underpin our culture and all that we do. The Opportunity Our Board has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and governance of Cosgrove Care. We are looking to deepen and extend our Board's skills, knowledge, and experience through the appointment of three more members. We welcome applications from those with either relevant professional or lived experience within the Health and Social Care environment. Previous board management experience is not necessary and whilst this is a voluntary position, out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed. In terms of time commitment, there will be a requirement to attend four to five board meetings per year and these meetings are usually 2-3 hours long. In addition, you would be expected to participate in one of our subcommittees. Typically, these subcommittees willmeet an additional four times per year for 1.5 hours each time.
