Customs & Freight Forwarding Supervisor

Reporting to the Customs Manager, this role will lead a team of customs & freight forwarding professionals, communicating Company goals, safety practices and deadlines. They will provide support to management including with recruitment and training, motivate the team and support their development.

Responsibilities include to:

• Answer team member questions, provide resolution to team member queries, and oversee team member work as regards quality and guideline compliance.



• Ensure company brand materials and physical working spaces meet and exceed company presentation standards.



• Provide quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints.



• Deliver the operational day to day management of the Customs and Freight Forwarding team.



• Assist the Customs Manager with internal and external training.



• Attend client meetings alongside the Customs Manager and maintain and manage Client KPIs.



• Contribute to department cost management and profit and loss forecasting.



• Ensure client compliance with customs legislation.
  
  Strong technical customs knowledge



• Experience in a team lead/supervisory role



• Well-developed influencing, motivational and leadership skills



• Experience in training/coaching/developing others



• Self-motivated and results focused.



• Strong relationship building and communication skills, both verbal and written



• Customer service focus, presenting a positive Company image through quality customer engagement



• Dangerous Goods Awareness



• Knowledge of freight forwarding/logistics


Minimum Qualifications


• Educated to National 4/5 level or equivalent



• Air Cargo Security



• IOSH Managing Safely



• Dangerous goods by air (IATA)
