| Director of Games Family Services Glasgow | | Join the Winning Team. The 9th November 2007 was a momentous day for the city of Glasgow and the country of Scotland. On that day we won the race to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games - now the hard work begins. The 2014 Games will showcase our great city and country on a scale never experienced before, with a potential TV audience of two billion people. There will be new investment leading to transformation of the city including new sports facilities and an Athletes' Village on the banks of the river Clyde, inspiring people not just from Glasgow and Scotland but from across the Commonwealth. To achieve this we need a team of dedicated professionals who can deliver key aspects of the Games to the highest level. The New Organising Committee (Glasgow 2014 Ltd) is now recruiting for our first group of senior posts following the appointment of a Chairman and Chief Executive. Have you got what it takes to be part of our winning team? As an integral part of the senior management team, you will have responsibility for ensuring that the requirements of the 71 Commonwealth Games Associations (CGAs) are at the heart of the planning for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and Scotland. Essentially your role will be to assist the Associations in their preparations for Glasgow and to enable their athletes to perform to the best of their abilities. You will have experience of working in sport internationally, ideally at major sports events, and will have extensive knowledge and experience of working with CGAs or National Olympic Committees. There will be a requirement to spend a significant amount of time liaising with Commonwealth Games Associations and attending major sports events. |
