Want to be a high earner? Become a Marketing Director

Every so often league tables of the best paid professions appear. According to one of the most recent, high flyers really are what they say they are. Yes, pilots, who earn an average of £91,000, come out tops.

Nobody is going to argue they don’t earn their money. Spending your days at the controls of a multi-million pound aircraft with the lives of 300 people in your hands is not for the faint-hearted.

But if you want to glide in their slipstream there’s no need to endure the years of training that it takes to get your wings.

There are other professions where salaries can rise just as high as a Dreamliner.

Financial and legal professionals are handsomely rewarded and judges do very nicely, m’Lud.

But guess who also makes it into the heady heights of the best paid lists?

That would be marketing directors, who come in at £82,200.

Of course, those figures are inflated by the handful of mega-earners who hold top positions within multi-national companies – but even when you factor them out of the equation, the average annual earnings for a marketing director is still on the right side of £70,000.

So how do you land yourself one of these lucrative positions?

Well, s1jobs is a good place to start. With marketing roles at all points on the career ladder, from entry level to senior positions, it’s the smart place to find your next great job.

From international charities, where a move to Africa would be part of the package, to digital marketing specialists who need pros to extend the reach of their current campaigns, the work is fast-paced, diverse and exciting.
