The Company

Robert Half is currently looking for a Banking assistant to work within a large Edinburgh based organisation.

The Role

Our client is currently looking for a suitable candidate:

•To action mail daily, processing all cheque receipts & direct bank receipts to customers accounts promptly and accurately.
•To ensure CWO rejects are investigated fully on daily basis & posted to the customers
accounts.
•To action Indemnity/refund requests as required.
•To process unpaid cheques and direct debits on a daily basis, ensuring Credit Control are updated accordingly .
•To reconcile the bank accounts and sales ledger control accounts daily and periodically.
•To process cheque/CHAPS & PIB requests as required
•To amend and maintain banking procedures to ensure best practise in this area is maintained.
•To ensure IT are advised daily in a timely manner of all DD transmissions
•To process Globe/Valefrost & EBC transfers daily, communicating to treasury & SNPE
•To ensure the Switch machine & G/L accounts are balanced on a daily basis.
•To resolve any queries arising from the above.
•To ensure a pro-active approach is adopted to allocate customer receipts & information is cascaded in a timely manner in relation to unidentified receipts/returned payments

Previous SAP and banking experience will be advantageous however is not essential.

Salary & Benefits

This role is looking to pay around £7.50 per hour however is negotiable depending upon experience. Holiday pay is accrued over and above that rate.
