BAFTA is the leading UK organisation promoting and rewarding excellence in the art forms of the moving image, which today encompass film, television and video games. The Academy now seeks a new Director for BAFTA Scotland to lead its Scottish branch into the next phase of its development.
The Director will be responsible for managing BAFTA Scotland's programme of screenings and events including the annual BAFTA lecture at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the Scottish Students on Screen and New Talent Awards and the BAFTA Scotland Awards.
The Director should also have ideas and the ability to help BAFTA expand its activities throughout Scotland with new and unique events. These events will be aimed at educating the public as well as inspiring the industry.
The Director will be self-motivated, able to inspire staff and others around them, and also able to work with and service an elected committee.
The Director should also be experienced in fundraising and able to work with and manage sponsorship relationships.
The Director will work closely with the senior executive of BAFTA in London and its committees to develop a common strategy for BAFTA across the UK. Knowledge of the media industries in Scotland and the UK would be helpful but not essential.
We are looking for someone who is able to take BAFTA Scotland forward and make it relevant to everyone in Scotland who goes to the cinema, watches television or plays a video game! Interviews will take place in Glasgow on Monday 23 June.
Closing Date: 06-Jun-2008
