Main duties for this role are as follows :-
The supervision, training and direction of Domestic Staff within the area he/she has allocated.
To adjust staff rotas for unplanned absences.
Ensure the control of infection procedures are observed.
Open up premises and de-activate alarm systems as required.
Allocation of work schedules, checking work schedules and making temporary adjustments in conjunction with the Domestic/Portering Manager.
The person to be considered would physically require to carry out a large amount of walking, standing, manual lifting and operating of equipment.
Practical previous cleaning experience within a health centre establishment.
•Previous hospital experience preferably a health care background
•Supervisory experience with larger groups of staff
•Ability to deal diplomatically with groups of people
•Literate e.g. completion of schedules, writing reports, recording accurately any information required
•Knowledge of systems, equipment and cleaning methods
•Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
•An understanding of Infection Control
•Knowledge of Health & Safety – safe working
•Ability to recognise training needs
•Good interpersonal communication skills
•Ability to prioritise work loads , his/her own and that of staff
•Ability to make decisions regarding allocation of duties to ensure standards are met
•A knowledge of quality / standards required
•Computer literate ( an advantage )
•Respond quickly to differing situations
