Located at Tynecastle Stadium, Edinburgh, the Heart of Midlothian Education & Community Trust aims to utilise the “Power of Sport” to motivate, educate and inspire tens of thousands of Children and adults within our community, through a range of innovative and progressive programmes and events.
We are recruiting a Community Coach to develop grassroots programmes in the Hearts catchment area. The Community Coach will be managed by the Community Development Manager of the Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust.
The post holder will work in partnership with Heriot Watt University, Heart of Midlothian Football Club and the Trust to develop football, sports and other relevant initiatives in areas such as participation, coach education and club development. The successful applicant will work to an agreed development plan from the Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust.
In this role your key accountabilities will be to:
- Project manage the set up, expansion and ongoing successful operation of the Grassroots Programme – developing and delivering the plans, obtaining resources, defining and documenting the processes required, identifying and escalating risks and issues, monitoring budgets to ensure the financial objectives are met
- Ensure the Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust objectives are fulfilled.
- Manage and develop relationships with partner groups and organisations
- Identify potential grant and funding streams
- Make best use of networking opportunities through various media channels to promote, increase awareness and to identify support for the Grassroots Programme
- Work closely with the communications functions of partner organisations
- Work with internal and external key stakeholders and contacts to assist in the development of the Grassroots Programme
To be successful in this position you should:
· Hold an SFA Children’s Licence
· Have managed a range of projects
· Demonstrate an understanding of the sports development agenda.
· Have experience of working with children, youths and adults in a sporting environment.
· Have experience of using a community development approach
· Have the ability to work with people and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
· Be proficient in use of Microsoft Office
· Have strong organisational and communication skills
· Have the ability to make judgements and regularly reorganise priorities
· Be experienced in partnership development
· Have a full driving licence and your own transport
