The Scottish Legal Aid Board is committed to improving the quality and effectiveness of the Scottish legal aid system, both for applicants for legal aid and the legal profession.
Investigating allegations of possible fraud, exploitation and abuse against the Board, you will either investigate potential fraud by applicants for legal aid, or examine accounts from solicitors to identify any fraud or abuse of the legal aid system. You will also assist in the monitoring of compliance with the Code of Practice for Criminal Legal Assistance.
Ideally, you will have a background in investigative work relating to fraud or abuse of public funds, preferably within a legal/compliance environment. In relation to the Solicitor investigator role you must also have good analytical skills. PINS/CIPFA qualified would be desirable but not essential. Both roles require good report-writing skills.
We also offer excellent employment conditions including performance related pay progression with a bonus for higher performance, flexible working hours, generous holidays, and a contributory final salary pension scheme.
