Job Purpose:
The management and supervision of all Cleaning Operatives within your Team, to ensure that all clients premesies are left in a clean and hygienic condition to written standards of contract.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and training of staff, to carry out full induction training, the apportioning of workloads and in the event of sickness or absence to provide cover.
- Where necessary, there may be a responsibility for key holding for the purposes of entering and leaving work areas and setting off alarms, including the confidentiality of codes to ensure that the premises are left safe, secure and, where appropriate lockfast. This does not mean the responding to a call out in the event of an emergency such as fire or police.
- The successful applicant is liable to be involved in strenuous activity e.g. operation of powered equipment, lifting & handing, climbing of stairs, etc
- To ensure the safe use of materials and equipment.
- To carry out monitoring inspections to ensure compliance of agreed standards.
- To liaise with the Cleaning Officer/Area Office on service issues.
- Any other duties as laid down by the Management Team.

- The post holder may be required to perform duties appropriate to the post, other than those given in the job specification. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to the post may vary from time-to-time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. Such variations are a common occurrence and would not themselves justify reconsideration of the grading.
Essential Attributes
- In order to be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates will be able to provide evidence of the following.
- Ability to follow straightforward instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and awareness of health and safety needs
- Ability to work alone, with minimum inconvenience to the Customer
- A basic standard of literacy and numeracy
- Ability to perform duties effectively, sometimes with periods of significant physical effort, sometime for lengthy periods, or in awkward positions
- Ability to work periodically in unpleasant conditions inside and outside
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals
- Ability to function to deadlines
- Ability to complete all paperwork accurately
Ideal Attributes
Ideally you will be able to provide evidence of the following.
- Experience of cleaning practices with the supervision of staff
- Experience of working as an effective member of a team
It is preferred that the applicant comes from a similar role.
