Our client, based in Grangemouth requires a Protein Scientist for immediate start. The role will involve the synthesis, purification and characterisation of protein conjugates. Duties may include :

• Synthesis of protein conjugates in an R & D environment
• Development of purification protocols (UF or chromatography based)
• Use of appropriate analytical techniques for characterisation
• Interpretation, recording and reporting of data
• Participation in scale-up activities (GMP and non-GMP)
• Process validation activities

You should have a high level of knowledge of protein purification (including techniques such as IEX, HIC, SEC and UF/DF) with a focus on scale up and method development, together with a good understanding of general protein handling techniques. The ideal candidate will have fantastic skills in protein analysis (chromatography, SDS-PAGE, GE, UV) with excellent organisation, team working and communication skills.
