My client are one of the most prestigious construction companies in the country that, due to continuous growth, have a strong presence in over 40 countries worldwide. They have an impressive portfolio and are well known for the high quality of work delivered to their ever-increasing client base.
Key sectors include retail, commercial health-care, residential, communications, industrial and pharmaceutical and current projects include hotel refurbishments, new build schools and high value retail developments.
The currently require an Operations Director to be based in Edinburgh and be responsible for projects across the East of Scotland.
You will report directly to the Regional Director and take full responsibility for the day-to-day Construction operations for a major project within one of the various disciplines.
Duties will include
Directing and monitoring short and long-term construction plans consistent with overall profit and delivery targets.
Negotiating new work opportunities
Forging positive working relationships with clients, professional advisers and local authorities
Undertaking performance management for all direct reporting managers and set a standard in the management of performance within your sector
Continually seek to identify and develop knowledge management and problem solving initiatives to support and add value to the business.
As this is a senior role, experience in the successful delivery and management of major or multiple projects, ideally in excess of £30million in value, is highly desirable. A detailed knowledge of the construction industry and associated commercial operations is also advantageous as is good technical, organisational, dynamic leadership and communication skills.
