The Deer Commission for Scotland (DCS) is a Non-Departmental Public Body charged with furthering the conservation, control and sustainable management of all species of wild deer in Scotland, and to keep under review all matters, including welfare, relating to wild deer. DCS is the Government’s advisor on wild deer issues. In pursuit of these aims, DCS undertakes a range of advisory and regulatory functions. It works closely with other public agencies, land managers, and stakeholder organisations. 

This post is to cover for Maternity Leave for an initial period of 9 months with the possibility of a further extension.

Duties will include the ordering of goods and payment of invoices, maintaining the Commission’s internal financial control system and reconciling the Commission expenditure with Scottish Government Accounting System and the preparation of a monthly financial report detailing income expenditure for management.

Essentially you will have 5 Standard Grades, or equivalent and be proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and will have experience in preparing spreadsheets.Excellent organisational skills and good interpersonal and team skills are also essential.

Experience in a financial related area and possession of ECDL qualification would be an advantage.
