We are now recruiting for a Prisoner Shop Manager at our newest establishment, HMP Addiewell, in Scotland.
Key aspects of the post
- To manage the operation of a range of retail services in the prison, complying with relevant legislation, maintaining financial probity and meeting the needs of the Prisoners.
- Lead and coach Prisoner Administrators within the department encouraging learning and development whilst also ensuring compliance with corporate and local human resource policies.
- Plan and deliver a range of retail services for prisoners.
- Manage budgets and ensure effective cash management.
- Plan and deliver a marketing strategy within the prison to ensure that all current trends are up to date and relevant.
- Establish effective stock control, ordering and rotation systems.
- Carry out customer surveys to identify needs and preferences.
- Ensure stock caters for cultural and religious needs.
- Liaise with accounts and procurement in relation to ordering stock and comply with all statutory financial agreements.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports for the Business Services Manager.
- Undertake any other duties as required that will contribute to the effective operation of the prison.
You will:
- Have previous people management/supervisory experience.
- Have retail experience and knowledge of stock control.
- Treat others with Respect, Dignity & Decency.
- Be a focussed and dynamic team player, who can adapt very rapidly to changing priorities.
