Your role will be to support fundraising for National Museums Scotland and the Royal Museum Campaign through the delivery of a programme of high-impact events.  You’ll also communicate the campaign in a way which promotes the organisation, engages and motivates prospective donors, and recognises and thanks donors and supporters.

Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or with equivalent level work experience, you must have proven success in planning and organising events for up to 250 people, ideally within a fundraising or similar environment.  Demonstrable budget management skills are important as is experience of successfully managing external suppliers.   It is desirable that you have some direct marketing experience and that you have worked with volunteers to deliver events.  Previous experience of securing sponsorship and working with sponsors to deliver events would also be useful.

Flexibility to work outwith normal office hours and at weekends to support events is vital.

This is a temporary post to cover maternity leave.  The post is available immediately and is expected to last until 28 April 2009.

Closing date for completed applications is Thursday 4 September 2008.  It is anticipated that the selection event will be held during the week commencing 15 or 22 September 2008.
