Scottish and Southern Energy is one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK and the largest generator of electricity from renewable sources, owning and operating almost half of the UK’s total renewable generation capacity.

SSE Wind Generation is the largest owner and operator of Wind Farms in the UK.  SSE is building an ambitious programme of new Wind Farms, both on and off-shore, the team undertakes all aspects of wind farm management, operation and maintenance.

As part of the Compliance team, you will be involved with new projects to ensure efficient handover of assets and to capitalise on the opportunity for knowledge sharing and operational feedback.  You will have the opportunity to regularly complete site work; this can involve working at height and outdoors in remote areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision, improvement and delivery of environmental performance and departmental systems
• Supervision of land management activities
• Supervise investigations into environmental incidents and ensure appropriate reporting is completed
• Control environmental policies and procedures to ensure all current and new legislation is applied
• Develop risk assessments, and give advice on appropriate risk control measures and ensure they remain effective
• Integrate environmental responsibilities and systems into a CMMS

Candidates will:

• Be qualified to HND or Degree level in an Environmental discipline
• Have experience within a similar role
• Be computer literate with skills in database manipulation and Microsoft office applications
• Ideally have experience in wind industry technology
