Looking for a fresh new challenge overseas? Does Dubai sound appealing?

The Company:
Our client provide specialist services to the offshore oil industry. The company are based in the United Arab Emirates with two primary facilities located in Sharjah and Dubai.

The company operates in 3 key markets:
•Upgrade and refurbishment of offshore jackup rigs;
•New build construction for the offshore oil and gas sector;
•Upgrade and refurbishment of land rigs.

Due to continued growth and exceptional customer demand, a fantastic opportunity has become available for a Quantity Surveyor. This position will report to the Chief Quantity Surveyor.


Key Responsibilities will include:


Surveying/Administration

•Examine the contract agreement and specification on award of a contract.
•Advise the project manager of key elements and ensure that all contractual obligations are met (e.g. warranties, insurances, invoice periods, bonds, etc.)
•Ensure completion certificates are signed on completion of projects to evidence commencement of warranty periods.
•Examine the tender documents and establish the project budget.
•Ensure project time keeping is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
•Ensure that unit rate items are measured and agreed with clients as soon as is practicable.
•Agree lump sum variations with the clients designated representative.
•In conjunction with the project manager and project engineers ensure that all monies due from client are claimed.
•Prepare all contractual correspondence required on projects.
•Monitor material wastage and ensure unused materials are returned to stock.
•Agreement of the final account with the clients designated representative prior to the rigs departure.

Purchasing

•Monitor the purchasing of all equipment and materials ensuring that the best discounts and payment terms are obtained.
•Preparation of sub-contract documents.
•Analyze subcontract quotations and reconcile rates and conditions to the main contract.

Programme/Progress

•Advise project managers and the project planner of planned labour hours and assist in the production of a project schedule.

Reporting

•Be responsible for cost control and reporting including regular monitoring of labour performance.
•Prepare project performance statements on a monthly basis.
•Preparing cash flow projections.
•Attend monthly project review meetings with the chief quantity surveyor and V.P.- Commercial to report on financial aspects of the contract.
