This major commissioning entity responsible for delivering municipal project across the globe are currently in JV with a leading Civils Delivery partner who have been appointed as an Associate Delivery Partner (ADP) by Scottish Water. They are targeted to deliver a £75m program of works during the 2006-2010 Q&Siii period. These projects are to be developed, designed and constructed within this regulatory period, and include both clean and dirty water projects. With a proven history of successfully delivery projects from Design to client acceptance. As a result of this Delivery commitment to Scottish Water a Senior Contract Engineer is required to supplement and support our existing team.



In this role you will be responsible for:

Assist the project manager in co-ordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy

Ensuring information is issued in time to enable construction, commissioning and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme. 

Provide cost data for forecasts and evaluation of variations

Assisting with project management strategy and the co-ordination and monitoring of design requirements

Establishing and maintaining contract change systems and registers on contract variations. 

Managing subcontractor payments,

Preparing purchase requisitions and ensuring all activities are carried out in line with CDM regulations and the companys quality procedures are fully implemented.

You will also be required to provide mentoring for junior staff and deputise for the Deputy Project Manager / Project Manager as and when required.



To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following

Minimum HNC Engineering / Technical qualification or equivalent

Relevant Professional qualification and safety qualifications would be advantageous

Engineering background, preferably in the water industry.

Working knowledge of various conditions of contract, especially I Chem E.

Knowledge of water and waste water treatment processes.

Detailed knowledge of Scottish Water
