Working as a dedicated Procurement Engineer managing and maintaining the technical/quality aspects of the catalogue, and reporting to the Lead Procurement Engineer, you will support the implementation of all activities and initiatives relating to procurement at Hunterston Power Station.

Ensuring that all activities support safe & reliable operation of the plant and maintaining full compliance within agreed safety and environmental standards and expectations, you will support the work week management process, particularly underpinning the materials planning process and will develop procurement specifications, in conjunction with technical specialists and buyers. You will monitor and advise on shelf life extensions and plant refurbishment activities and assist in the management of the company’s strategic spares technical catalogue & company technical catalogue, including liaison with suppliers, providing assistance in the identification & disposal of ‘obsolete/not fit for purpose’ strategic spares and ensuring accuracy in existing technical specifications and new specific strategic items.

Self-motivation, a flexible approach and a positive attitude is essential. You will be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders.

Sound working knowledge of technical and quality assurance arrangements is required. As a minimum, you should have a relevant HNC, and those with a degree may have an advantage.
