Shared Services Finance Manager - Central Belt

Due to my client wishing to have the best finance team in the UK, they are now investing heavily in their shared services function here in the central belt with the recruitment of a Shared Services Finance Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to manage the delivery of the finance shared services, which includes Commercial Collections, Customer Collections and Group Payables. You will manage a large team (over 100 staff) and be at the forefront of this area of the business. My client has exciting plans for change over the next two years and is investing in creating a world-class service.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Delivering to Service Level Agreements
Managing the shared service to deliver in line with agreed cost, quality and time metrics
Providing leadership development and support to your team of Senior Managers
Identifying, communicating and resolving/escalating issues & risks.
Driving & maintaining a strong 'controls' focus, ensuring strict adherence to SOX controls
Reviewing and managing staff roles and work allocation periodically, and in planning for business change
Translating strategic goals into clear Department and individual objectives which are aligned to the overall vision.
Developing strong working relationships with internal departments and external parties with whom regular interaction occurs

For success in this role you will ideally have:

A completed Accounting qualification (CA, ACCA or CIMA)
Proven experience of leading, managing and developing others at managerial level
A strong understanding of the commercial context to financial processes
Demonstrated ability to move easily between transaction detail and the "big picture"
Experience of managing transaction processing and/or shared services would be a distinct advantage
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including Director and Executive members
Good analytical skills, and be highly competent in your quality of work, technical skills & commercial judgement
