The Role


As Accommodation Director you will be a member of the SFT Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive and taking personal responsibility for the strategic development and delivery of significant elements of the organisations Business Plan. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the public sector building infrastructure programme throughout Scotland, including schools, hospitals, universities and other accommodations. This will involve bringing together and coordinating diverse public sector parties into collaborative procurement programmes ensuring all projects are developed on a sustainable basis and deliver optimum value for money.

You will be pragmatic in your approach and a strategic thinker, with a proven track record in the successful delivery of infrastructure projects within either the public or private sectors. Experience of the financial, commercial and procurement structuring of projects to deliver best value is also essential.

An experienced people manager with proven track record of developing professionals, you will have excellent communication and negotiation skills with demonstrable evidence of achievement through collaborative working in a complex organisational context.

In addition you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Highly developed and adaptable influencing skills
  • Knowledge of public procurement regulations
  • Strong change and project management skills
  • Commitment and willingness to use personal endeavour to deliver results
  • A resilience to opposition and commitment to goals
