Financial Controller - Scottish Borders
This multi national growth sector client based in the Scottish Borders requires a high calibre Financial Controller with potential to develop to CFO
The newly created position of Financial Controller will play a role pivotal in the continued success of this multi national group of companies. Through the use of strong financial stewardship the successful candidate will ensure that the organisation has robust controls and processes in place to optimise their cashflow. Providing high quality management information and analysis allowing the board to make sound decisions and delivering monthly and statutory accounts on time are key fundamentals for the post holder.
The role will also involve but not be limited to:
• The ongoing training, development and motivation of the Finance Team
• Assist the CFO with preparation consolidated accounts and managing the group finance function
• Play a major role in project managing the implementation of a new management information system for the group
My client is seeking a high calibre finance professional who can combine a hands on approach with a strategic mindset, you should be as comfortable on the shop floor as in the board room. The successful candidate will be able to evidence the followings skills and experience:
• Graduate calibre with a recognised professional accounting qualification CA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA
• An excellent communicator, able to motivate and inspire staff and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• Have demonstrable experience in a number of different industry sectors
• Bring new ideas to the role, be able to deliver process and controls improvements and ideally have implemented a Finance or ERP system.
• Up to date knowledge of UK reporting standards, knowledge of IFRS would be an advantage
• Have the potential to eventually become the CFO
