Our Client a Small Manufacturing organisation based in West Lothian is currently looking for a Part Qualified Accountant to provide a full accounting service to all operational area based in their site.
Role Profile
Working within a small Finance team your role will be to review the end-to-end reporting process, from transaction processing through, management accounts, to board reporting, with the objective of increasing quality of output, and reducing timescales.
- IT knowledge will be required to take responsibility for the implementation of a replacement Management Information System (MIS)
- Calculating & Reporting daily/weekly KPI's
- Inventory valuation & Aged stock Management, making sure stock is invoiced to customers within agreed contractual terms
- Understand the technical implications of system changes, and implement changes
- Develop a deep understanding of our client's current systems, and keep abreast of potential new areas of development, and apply this knowledge to innovative and best practice solutions.
- As this role will be looking mainly at our clients management accounts the successful candidate will be involved in the month end cycle and look at post analysis of actual to forecast
- Create and update product standard costs
- Produce monthly management accounts pack for production site
- Annual Budget Process
- Review of overhead expenditure for site
- Contributing to weekly production meetings with senior managers on site
- Control/ Reporting of production statistics
- Short Term forecasting
- The role will involve profitability definition, looking at costs to sales values and looking at our clients order mix
- To provide product costing information for production and sales departments
Key Skills Required
This role would suit a Part Qualified Accountant nearing finalist stage. Our client is only looking for candidates with previous experience of a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Due to other group opportunities there is a possibility of the successful candidate stepping up to a Financial Controller role within 2009/2010
Experience of large ERP systems or bespoke manufacturing system would be beneficial
