Procurement OfficerGlasgow

Our Client is looking to recruit a Procurement Officer to contribute to their key objectives and strategy by applying the procurement strategy through taking responsibility for specific tendering and/or category activity and generally ensuring that all of their non-pay expenditure is exposed to open competition in a fair,open and transparent manner.
In addition you will be required to manage a diverse portfolio of goods & Services, provide specialist procurement advice to the organisation on a full range of issues including tendering, EU directives, legal & other appropriate issues, represent the organisation on external bodies and ensure the organisation's best interest's are protected, Pro-actively take responsibility for indentifying new procurement opportunities and develop key stakeholder relationships, create, monitor and utilise procurement processes and indentify Training requirements, course material, while delivering to a diverse range of internal staff on the impact of best practice within Procurement.

Essential experience should be, membership of CIPD, knowledge of multi-facetted and devolved procurement environment, e-procurement and of procurement within Higher Education, practical application of relevant EU Directives & experience across a range of procurement categories.

In addition you should be able to interact effectively, have excellent presentation skills, be able to persuade and influence and be customer service focussed.
