Management Accountant Edinburgh   £42000 - £50000 per annum + Pro Rata

An exciting and business critical role has arisen in a city centre organisation. We are seeking a qualified accountant with excellent excel and systems skills to be responsible for the production of accounts for several groups.

Responsibilities:

-Preparation of quarterly management accounts including consolidation. This requires a large volume of work to be carried out in strict timescales for external reporting.
Preparation of the budget for the accounts. This needs to be completed in consultation with the business team. The budget is used for analysis in the quarterly accounting.

-Assistance in the preparation of statutory accounts – although these will be produced by the audit firm.

-External audit and tax liaison. The management accountant is the primary contact throughout all of the audit process and will be required to provide significant assistance to the auditors during the fieldwork stage of the audit.

-Liaison with property accounting and credit control to ensure that all processes comply with accounting requirements and that the required work is carried out to allow the timely completion of quarter end.

-Provide holiday cover for treasury function. This primarily involves carrying out the payment run for purchase ledger.

-Supervision of VAT and CIS returns and enquiries this includes dealing with any VAT inspections.

-Management of the nominal ledger. Due to a recent system implementation there will be ongoing adjustment required in the nominal ledger and in the quarter end processes.

-Supervision of the submission of Annual Returns and other Companies House Documentation

Ad hoc / project work

Skills:

-Technically competent
-Strong IT skills particularly Microsoft Excel.
-Good communication skills
