Avenue Scotland is a leading recruitment agency looking to source a Commercial Manager for our client's base in Central Scotland.

Reporting to the General Business Manager and part of the senior management team, you will assume commercial responsibility for a business which has experienced exceptional growth in recent years. As such, you will manage the front end of the business and will lead the estimating, sales and business development teams, cultivating customer relationships to achieve results.


Responsibilities


•Total commercial accountability for the Scottish facility including the leadership of the estimating, sales and business development functions.

•To develop a proactive commercial strategy in order to ensure an accurate flow and mix of customers and projects which are appropriate to the business plan and provide the business with a balanced order book

•Establish, in conjunction with the General Business Manager, business and commercial objectives and pricing policy to achieve market penetration and increase profitability in all market sectors.

•Leverage new business opportunities on the basis of success already achieved with existing customers.

•To ensure that the company plays an active involvement in projects from the tendering/bid process through to completion.

•Gather and collate all necessary market intelligence data covering technical and market trends, competitors' products/services and customer opinions, producing the necessary plans and strategies to respond effectively.

•Put in place a clearly defined management structure for the department that will respond to and anticipate change.


Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in a business development role within the commercial / construction sector, either within a sub contractor (glazing, cladding, roofing, partitioning, etc) or main contractor. Experience of building sound commercial, sales, and business strategies that ensure the organisation stays one step ahead of the competition is essential.
