HR Consultancy is seeking to recruit a Billing Team Member for a well established city centre company.
The Role:
Raising of invoices and return of same to fee earners for despatch to clients, ensuring compliance with Law Society and VAT rules, and with internal processing standards. Review of completed proformas/instructions that have been presented for invoicing.
Duties will include:
- The role involves supervision/direction from the Billing Supervisor who is available at all times
- The role involves interaction with partners and fee earners and requires high quality interpersonal skills
- No material independent decision making is required in this role, other than assessing and prioritising daily, weekly and monthly tasks to ensure that immediate/ urgent demands are met
Billing duties
- Production of bills ready for despatch, meeting deadlines for month-end closure purposes. The instruction to raise a bill can come in one of three ways: memo from partner/fee earner, draft proforma completed by partner/fee earner, review of matter files to determine fee. This duty includes the processing of these invoices onto the system
- Responding to ad hoc queries from fee earners – including providing back-up information, breakdown analysis of bills, etc
- Proactive pursuit of partners/fee earners to encourage speedy/earlier billing, reducing the problems of period-end "bottlenecks"

Essential
Computer literacy, knowledge of Money Laundering guidelines.
Experience of working within a finance team in a professional services environment.
