Pre Employment/ Employability Trainer

 

Grade:                        Up to £24, 927

Hours:                        35 per week

Holidays:                   25 plus public holidays                   

 Reporting to: Employability & Skills Team Leader

 

Job Profile:

To provide advice, guidance and training to unemployed clients, identifying key strengths and development needs, designing and delivering Motivational, Pre-employment and Employability interventions which address identified barriers. 

 

 

Personal Profile:

You will have a genuine interest in people, confident, approachable, engaging, flexible and dedicated with the ability to motivate, inspire, enthuse and encourage.  You will have an excellent understanding of the needs of short and long term unemployed individuals and possess the ability to design and deliver solutions which meet the needs of clients and employers. Main Aims:

·         Support RTWS clients to secure and sustain employment via a range of pre employment programmes.

·         Plan and assist in the delivery of pre employment/employability training to unemployed clients across a range of sectors.

·         Monitor and evaluate pre employment programmes and support which maximise client outcomes and meet employer needs.

·         Work with clients to produce quality CVs, job applications, covering and speculative letters.

·         Support clients exiting pre employment programmes to identify, apply and secure suitable employment

·         Assist colleagues to fill vacancies, utilising customised and Employed Status Training for Work where appropriate;

·         To provide confidential, client centred advice, information and support to workless clients in their search for employment, training or education;

·         Liaise with colleagues and partner agencies to identify and assess candidate suitability for pre employment programmes;

 

 

 

 Key Competencies

·         Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for own workload;

·         Commitment and ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team;

·         A high level of written and interpersonal communication skills;

·         Sound understanding of  current Welfare to Work programmes

·         At least two years experience in a similar role including the delivery of training on a group and 1:1 basis

·         A clear understanding of employability , and how to support clients through various stages of development and achievement;

·         A willingness to be creative and contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery;

·         An ability to develop and deliver pre employment support individually tailored to meet client needs;

·         A professional manner in dealing with clients, colleagues and employers.

·         A positive and creative attitude to problem solving

·         Willingness to work flexible hours to meet employer needs where required

·         Full driving license and use of car for company business
