Our client, one of Scotland’s best known social care organisations has an enviable track record of delivering high quality services to people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, acquired brain injury and also to older and young people.

You
This role is crucial to the maintenance and development of their values and vision. The Head of Best Practice will combine a thorough knowledge of social care practice and processes with first-class leadership, staff support and development skills. We expect all applicants to have a facilitative, assertive management style, outstanding interpersonal skills and a practical understanding of how to ensure high practice standards in a constantly changing and continuously improving social care business. You will report directly to the Assistant Director, sit on the Senior Management Team, and play a crucial role in managing and potentially growing their services.
Expectations
We are looking for a creative manager with a track record of improving all their care, and support staff, in terms of learning, self awareness, their place in the organisation and their approach to some 300 service users. Working hand in hand with the Head of Performance Measurement in this task, it is assumed you are highly motivated, self managing and are able to pick up on development work when required.
You must have a professional care / support qualification or relevant degree, and be fully versed in abiding by the National Care Standards & SSSC’s code of conduct, and have a substantial track record in the field of managing support / care services. Your knowledge base should already include:
- Community care and support funding streams,
- Legislation and regulation relating to community care and support,
- Care practice and care standards, and
- Person Centred Planning
