Role Purpose 

Continuously to maximise the efficiency of the Purchase Ledger function.

 Key Tasks & Responsibilities

 Posting of Invoices to Purchase Ledger on Sun Systems

  • Ensure all postings dealt with accordingly to best practice and conforming to statute

Reconciliation of Supplier Statements

  • Ensure accuracy of postings to supplier accounts and liaising if necessary

UK and Overseas VAT

  • Ensuring UK and overseas VAT documentation is collated, summarised and forwarded to relevant overseas agents 

 Ad Hoc Projects 

  • Ensure all ad hoc projects are completed accurately.   

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Excellent numerical and communication skills and good attention to detail. A calm, confident and mature flexible approach to working hours may be required to meet specific deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 

Maths GCSE Grade C or above. 

Desirable

Accounting AAT qualification or similar.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent numerical and communication skills
  • Ability to work within pre-set monthly deadlines
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheet knowledge 
  • Previous experience of working to deadlines and dealing with external customers
  • Ability to plan your personal work schedule
  • Substantial keyboard and significant excel spreadsheet experience
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
