A vacancy has arisen for a temporary cook to undertake the preparation and cooking of meals for operational personnel within Cowcaddens Fire Station.

With an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate, you will have experience of working in a catering environment to specified standards with awareness of Health & Safety and Environmental Health Regulations and a high level of personal hygiene.

You should have the ability to plan and prepare nutritionally balance meals, have good organisation skills and the ability to work without supervision. You will be responsible for attaining and maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the kitchen area and dining room.

You will be responsible for maintaining records relating to the monitoring and inspection of food and equipment. You will also be required to handle cash on occasion for the purpose of purchasing provisions.

Completion of a recognised course of study in food preparation and hygiene such as the 706/1 City and Guilds, 706/2 Cooking Certificate or equivalent and knowledge of H.A.C.C.P are desirable.

Work Pattern - Mon-Thur 09:00-14:00 & Fri 09:00-13:15.
