Logistics Manager Auchinleck   £45k + benefits

Anderson Knight is working in Exclusive partnership with Barony Universal Products. The company is based in Ayrshire and manufacturers consumer goods for leading retailers. They have created a new role as Logistics Manager due to a major expansion program, which will result in the company entering into other market sectors.

Barony is focused on customer service and operates to high professional and ethical standards. Raw materials are managed from the company’s warehouse however the company’s chosen logistics partner who is located in England undertakes distribution to their customers worldwide. We therefore highlight that candidates must possess an in depth working knowledge of warehousing and distribution.

The role will report directly to the Supply Chain Director and will provide a service to many other areas in the business including operations.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

• To oversee and manage the staff’s day to day activities within the Logistics Department inclusive of expediting of materials from suppliers, production scheduling and warehouse operations.
• Report on all departmental Key Performance Indicators to the Executive team.
• Regular interface with a demanding customer base and suppliers alike, communicating delivery/non delivery performance reporting on cost impact to the business.
• Identify and improve productivity opportunities within the department through continuous improvement initiatives including ongoing project support.
• Delegate and performance manage the Logistics team to achieve the strategic plan through the fulfilment of roles and responsibilities.
• Total management of all warehousing activities within the business.
• Manage inventory costs to a minimum whilst ensuring sufficient stock to maintain an uninterrupted flow of production and 100% service to customer.
• Control the flow of goods in, through and out of the company ensuring that materials required for production arrive on time and as economically as possible

The ideal candidate will be a very experienced supply chain manager and be able to demonstrate such. They will have worked in a distribution/warehouse environment preferably within FMCG and have experience of dealing with 3rd party haulage contracts.
