The client
Our client are one of the UK's leading accountancy and business advisory groups with 44 offices and almost 2000 staff across the UK.
The role
An opportunity now exists for a Management Accountant on an initial 9 month contract. You will provide high quality financial reporting and will provide a high quality financial reporting service to clients, exceeding service standards profitably. You will own the client relationship with defined clients and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of services for both financial reporting and transactional services. You will ensure strong communication links between Transactional Services, internal and external clients. You will identify improvement opportunities both in quality and efficiency and support the winning of new business and the seamless transition of new work into the delivery centre.
Other elements of the role include;
• Ensuring all services are delivered to our clients, exceeding service targets, profitably.
• Ensuring quality of information provided to clients is of the highest standard
• Managing client delivery by scheduling, supervising and reviewing work
• Managing client and third party relationships from initial set up meetings, liaising with other key contacts, to on going service issues
• Profitable development of business by assisting in the winning of new clients: cross selling additional services and introducing other service lines
• To ensure all processes are kept up to date and ensure SLA's are monitored
• Key performance measures acted upon on an ongoing basis
• Managing value and avoiding risk through timely planning and resourcing
• Key Produce first draft accounts with minimal review points/error, meeting personal targets
• High quality services provided to all clients ensuring team and personal target are met
Key Skills Required
• Minimum of a pass in GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths (Accounting Higher or A Level desirable but not essential)
• Excellent knowledge and practical application of accounting standards.
• Able to manage own workload and prioritise effectively
• Commercially aware and able to advise clients on financial performance and Motivated to provide the highest quality service to clients
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Aware of client needs and expectations - acting promptly to resolve issues in a clear manner
• Able to work well with team members to assist in achieving common objectives
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Sage - excellent understanding of all general ledger functions without supervision
• Solution focused - able to analyse and provide innovative solutions
• Able to use own initiative to develop improvements to systems/procedures
• Self awareness in respect of communication with colleagues and personal development
