A leading UK civil engineering contractor responsible for a range of multi-disciplinary design, engineering and construction projects in both public and private sectors, including water companies and water authorities, local authorities and government agencies, are currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Glasgow office.

The company’s turnover has improved year on year and as such they currently hold a strong position in the market despite the current economic downturn.

The successful applicant will be educated to a minimum HNC/HND level in quantity surveying or have equivalent experience. You must be able to prove a strong background within another main contracting civil engineering environment as no training will be offered with this role. In order to be considered for this position you should have previous experience of working on NEC contracts ideally option 3 level. Previous Scottish Water experience will be a distinct advantage in being considered for this position.

You will be able to work under minimal supervision, be capable of supporting and mentoring less experienced members of staff, will be a highly effective communicator and will show a strong career history and a great understanding of the construction process. You will demonstrate excellent commercial awareness and be able to manage sub contractors and produce accurate reports. In return and excellent salary and package will be offered.
