AS400 Analyst/Programmer required for large manufacturing organisation based in East Ayrshire. This role is initally on a contract basis from 9 months up to 2 years. Your role will be:
- To design new application systems, develop and maintain existing systems that currently run on the Company's IBM AS400
- Provide Training, advice, guidance and technical support to users of these systems
- Assist with the maintenance and development of EDI applications
- Liase with the Operations Staff when patches and updates to AS400 application packages are needed and ensure that these are carried out.
You must have a degree or professional qualification in computing or other relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years systems design and development experience gained in an AS400 environment.
Candidates must be proficient in the use of RPG, CL, DDS, SDA and AS400 QUERY. Knowledge of Client Access and SQL would be an advantage.
