Our Client are a public sector body based in Edinburgh, they have a major construction project which will provide new build accommodation in Scotland for a group of government agencies. 

You will be a chartered building professional with a broad range of up-to-date skills and knowledge, and have experience of working on, or giving advice in relation to, major public sector construction projects from inception to completion.
 
You should have excellent analytical and investigative skills for identifying stakeholders' needs in relation to major construction projects. You must be able to communicate effectively and confidently, both orally and in writing.
 

As Client Adviser you will:
 

- Participate as an interview board member during the process of appointing construction consultants and contractors, evaluating pre-qualification questionnaire submissions and tender documents, actively participating in the evaluating and short-listing of suitable candidates and contributing to tender evaluation reports.
- Provide professional advice, guidance and support to Investment Decision Maker, Project Owner and Project Sponsor to meet project timetable and targets.
- Provide professional advice and support to Project Sponsor on contractual and technical issues, consultant and contractor appointments and financial matters in order to meet agreed timescales and secure value for money, which will enable the Project Sponsor to make Informed Public Sector Construction Investment Decisions.
- Represent the client at meetings with stakeholders, consultants and contractors.
- Review and advise the client on tender documentation prepared by the Project Manager and design team members.
- Provide professional advice and support to officials and stakeholders on public sector construction procurement and policy matters.
- Act as first point of contact with project manager, providing professional advice on policy, procedures and practice, including professional construction advice.
- Represent the client at design team meetings and regular site meetings and reporting back to senior management within 3 working days.  Please apply as soon as possible, this vacancy is initially for 4-6 months and is due to start in the middle of March.
