SPSA is currently undergoing a job evaluation exercise. As a consequence of this exercise all roles will be subject to re-evaluation which may ultimately result in a change to the grade / salary of the role. All pay issues are bargained for collectively in consultation with the trades unions and you will be advised of any changes in line with this consultation process.

Purpose of Role

To assist with the effective delivery of a printing service to designated business area/s.

Role Responsibilities
• Operate a variety of Digital presses, black and white and full colour, also full laser copying from pre-set information on computer in the production of finished work to customer satisfaction, including:
o set up digital press for operation as required.
o load required paper, run machine adjusting as required to ensure quality of production is to a specified standard.
• Set up, load and operate ancillary machines such as binders, drills, laminator, set up and operate programmable guillotine.
.• Maintain level of routine maintenance to ensure efficient machine operation e.g. clean glass and free sensors.
• Update files of original course material with amendments received from Graphics Department.
• Liaise and advise customers and Print Services colleagues regarding the most cost effective and best methods of presenting project work to meet requirements e.g. covers, overheads.
• Ensure safe disposal, by shredding, of confidential waste from other sections.
• Advise supervisor when materials require re-ordering.
• Prioritise daily workload, in line with department schedules
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade as required.
