ACCOUNT HANDLER - COMMERCIAL INSURANCE Edinburgh   £DOE

Our client, a respected insurance broker within the Edinburgh marketplace is seeking an experienced commercial insurance account handler to join their team.

Role:

·         Maintain and service new and existing business for commercial clients within the commercial insurance department and, when required the PI department.

·         Deal with clients directly in a professional and efficient manner.

·         Support the efficient day to day operation of the team and contribute new ideas for improvement, where appropriate.

·         Awareness of cross selling opportunities as well as development of existing accounts.

·         Knowledge of broker placement strategies.

·         Provision of advice to clients in a compliant manner.

·         Offer technical advice to commercial clients and to seek assistance from colleagues where necessary.

·         Ensure deadlines are met within specified timescales and notify colleagues if/when deadlines cannot be met.

·         Assist with ad-hoc duties as and when required.

Skills required:

·       Good technical knowledge of all commercial insurance classes (PI knowledge would be an advantage).

·       Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Excellent customer service skills.

·       Good attention to detail.

·       Commercial awareness.

·       Initiative and commitment to achieve.

·       The ability to work well as part of a team.

·       Flexible with regard to working time.

·       Working knowledge of computer systems and a proven ability to work to the company’s systems and procedures. 

Experience of working within a commercial insurance broking or insurer environment essential.
