Post Sales Support Engineer (Fluent German Speaker)

Their customers include Reuters news agency, Royal Shakespeare Company, BBC, Wimbledon tennis complex, University College London and Heathrow Terminal 5.  They also have customers throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Exterity’s Technical Support Team is responsible for providing telephone, email and on-site support to the company’s partners as well as a number of customer-facing functions, including product quality, product field trials and customer product documentation. Exterity has identified a need for a new position, a Post Sales Support Engineer to work as part of the team, primarily focussing on post sales support for their partners.  This role will be based out of their Headquarters in Dalgety Bay, Fife.  

The successful candidate will be a fluent German Speaker and have good general computing skills and have worked in a post sales support, IT Support or field network engineer role. Experience with either IP networking solutions or digital video technologies is highly desirable, while exposure to IP multicast and streaming video solutions would help set the ideal candidate apart from the crowd.

Focusing on building relationships with our technical and distribution partners, this position will provide support and technical expertise for our products. Support is required across the product range and will require good problem solving and troubleshooting as well as patience and effective communication skills.

To excel in this role, you will be logical and systems focused with the ability to express concepts in different perspectives and deliver promises. Commitment is essential and a big part of the culture, as is passion and the drive to do things better so a desire to learn and develop your skills base is an important part of this role.

From a non technical perspective this position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build customer relationships and a full driving license. This position may involve some travel and participation in an on-call rota.
