Their customers include Reuters, Royal Shakespeare Company, BBC, All England Lawn Tennis Association (Wimbledon), University College London and Heathrow Terminal 5.  They also have customers throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and the USA.

They are looking for a competent and self motivated technical writer to join a small but expanding department based in Dalgety Bay (near Edinburgh). This is a new role and you will be playing a key part in the development process for the best Building IPTV products on the market.
A typical day would be spent writing product manuals, Online help, Technical FAQs and knowledge articles, training material and other supporting documentation as well as some marketing material such as product datasheets.  You will also be expected to co-ordinate the development of foreign language versions of much of the company’s documentation.

Working with staff in the Engineering and Marketing departments you will produce original documents and refresh documents produced by others.

The right candidate will have excellent writing skills with the ability to write in a clear, concise and consistent style.  Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to research and distil information are central to this role.  A professional and flexible approach to projects including and understanding budgets, timescales and quality is key.

Your experience and education will include an excellent degree qualification, experience as a technical author or writer within a software and hardware products based environment.  A working knowledge of most of the following is essential: HTML, Framemaker, Robohelp, Acrobat and Office products.
