Sybase Developer - Glasgow

Sybase Database Developer required by large Investment Bank, based in Glasgow. You should have recent knowledge of Sybase Transaction SQL and Unix (preferably Solaris and Linux) skills. You should be a capable designer of code and have a proven track record of working with others to resolve issues and develop solutions. You must understand the Sybase query optimiser and indexing strategies, with regard to both performance and storage management. Any knowledge of Financial Markets, Credit/Market Risk business functions and experience with supporting systems would be ideal.

The main function of the role will be providing functional improvements to the existing systems with release cycles.

Key responsibilities will include performance tuning, stabilising production systems, improving their supportability and reviewing and providing input to the database design/code early in the project life cycle for "investment" projects. You may also be required to work on improving performance/capacity or even resolving critical issues arising in production.



Location: Glasgow

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 Plus benefits
