AS400 Analyst/ Programmer Kilmarnock   £28000 - £35000 per annum + benefits

Global engineering organisation has an immediate requirement for an AS400 Analyst/Programmer to be based onsite in Kilmarnock. Working as part of a close knit team, it will be your responsibility to design new applications and develop and maintain existing systems running on the companies IBM AS400 infrastructure. You will also be responsible for;
• Apply patches and updates to AS400 Application Packages as required
• Providing training, advice , and technical support to users of these systems
• Produce technical documentation including user manuals
• Provide AS400 technical support to the operations staff where this is required to resolve helpdesk and other operations queries
• Assist with maintenance and development of EDI applications
The successful applicant will therefore likely have previous experience of system design and development experience, gained in an AS400 (or potentially eserver/i series) environment. You should also have skills in the following; RPG, CL, DDA, SDA and AS400 Query. Other useful skills include;
• EDI
• MAPICS
• FRX
• LOTUS NOTES database development
• MICROSOFT ACCESS database development
• Client Access and SQL
