Hays Insurance are assisting a major insurer in the launch of a new service and personal lines products to the market. The focus of this position is to control the performance and profitable development of the products by: -
- Deciding or recommending changes to underwriting rules and documentation.
- Ensuring that rates and underwriting rules are accurately updated.
- Supervise, motivate and develop the Household/Motor Underwriting team.
- Support the Household/Motor Underwriting Management team, as appropriate
To apply for this role you must have experience of underwriting and developing personal lines products (Motor and or Home) combined with:
- A sound understanding of underwriting and pricing principles and experience of a wide range of technical issues.
- Excellent skills in supervising, motivating and developing a team.
- A good degree of numeracy with a strong ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Excellent skills in explaining, both internally and externally to key business partners, the interpretation of policy wordings, underwriting decisions and the outcome of audits.
