MARKETING PRODUCT MANAGER - GC Specialist Glasgow   Competitive Salary

Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast-growing manufacturer of gas generators, is looking to recruit a GC Specialist to develop sales of Peak’s GC product lines.

This will be a UK based role in Glasgow with some overseas travel.

We operate from a modern facility at Inchinnan, by Glasgow Airport, and have a very strong reputation in the market place, having achieved two Queen’s Awards for Export. Our current turnover is £10m, with plans to grow significantly over the next few years. We manufacture and maintain gas generators for the laboratory market and export 90% of our sales to approximately 75 countries. We have recently opened a number of overseas offices.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this new role will be responsible for:

• Establishing sales forecasts for both new and existing products
• Supporting Sales Territory Managers in growing the market share
• Meeting with customers to understand product requirements, validating product designs, support strategic sales activities
• Developing product requirement documents for new product releases
• Working closely with Sales, Engineering/ R&D to ensure all product decisions taken are linked to the commercial needs of the business
• Tracking business performance against forecasts, formulating new approaches and strategies as needed
• Identifying best practices to address key business challenges and opportunities and implement effective sales training
• Establishing market understanding, market segmentation, product positioning & channel identification
• Monitoring product growth and profitability and eliminating products that are no longer useful
• Conducting technical comparisons to supply for competitive positioning


Skills required:

• Experience in Product Management and /or Marketing essential
• Specific knowledge of Laboratory Market (Gas Chromatography)
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities
• Ability to work inter-departmentally
• Willingness to travel
• Customer focussed
• Results Orientated
