This accounts assistant job with a prestigious firm of Chartered Accountants, will most likely appeal to candidates with a general practice background, who are committed to obtaining a professional qualification in a supportive environment. Reporting to the audit senior and managers, you will work with a large and varied client base, with responsibility for the following:
- Undertaking accounts preparation work in the office and at client premises
- Undertaking audit work in the office and at client premises
- VAT returns
- Assisting with the office payroll function for certain clients
- Assisting clients with queries relating to Sage Line 50
- Assist the tax department with accounts/audit related tax queries
Skills/Experience Required:
Applications are invited from candidates with a general practice background who are keen to further their career in a supportive environment, and potentially study for a professional qualification. Ideally, you will have experience of Sage Line 50 and have some payroll knowledge/experience; though this is by no means a pre-requisite for success.
Of greater importance is an outgoing personality, coupled with a self assured, professional manner. You should be able to work independently, but also as part of a team. Moreover, you should be able to prioritise your workload and have good communication skills.
Finally, a knowledge of landed estates/rural affairs and commercial/residential property would be highly desirable, as would a knowledge of trusts. However, full training will be given in this area, so again, it is by no means a pre-requisite for success.
It should be clear however that this is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop a well-rounded skill set and earn a professional qualification.
