A vacancy for  Head of Human Resources has arisen  at our Head Office, Craigton Road, Glasgow.   

The purpose of this position is to lead the HR and training team in providing proactive support whilst driving change and development.

This position is responsible for numerous sites right across the UK. Significant travel will be required  across the UK(as dictated by business needs this may include overseas) in order to support operational delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

Full responsibility for HR function including:

Ensure alignment and delivery of HR Strategy to support Business Plan

Provide legal advise to all levels including Board report

Manage HR and Training Team to proactively support the needs of the business

Mitigate risk by pro-actively educating line managers in managing people

Ensure all HR Policies are maintained and strive to deliver best practice

Strategic Input to Bids/Tenders

Management of all Tupe Transfers and mobilisation/demobilisation

Lead on people initiatives and Organisational Development

 

Qualifications

Preferably Chartered MCIPD  with a relevant qualification ie Human Resources Degree  or equivalent.

Key Skills/ Experience include:

Ability to translate strategic aims into practical and achievable solutions and results

Practical application of knowledge on UK employment legislation and best practice.

Experience of Dealing with Trade Unions

Must have the ability to drive change and be flexible with changing requirements

Ability to influence at all levels and challenge behaviours,

Proactive approach to ER

Ability to multi- task and balance diverse range of activities.

Attention To Detail

Experience of Managing Budgets

Proven track record of managing HR for a diverse workforce with multiple business units.

Some knowledge of facilities management particularly planned and reactive maintenance, housing and soft facilities management services would be preferred.
