Our growing professional services client is currently recruiting an Accountant to be based within their Edinburgh City centre offices. This is a new role due to expansion, and will cover a variety of management accounting activities.
With responsibility for the preparation of financial information you will have exposure to the Chief Operating Officer, the Board and various Partners within the business.
As part of this friendly professional finance team you will:
- Be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual budgets and cash-flow forecasts
- Liaise with departmental heads and budget holders
- Ensure all relevant financial and KPI information is recorded and communicated to all areas of the business within the agreed timeframes and in the most efficient manner
- Assist in the preparation of annual accounts
- In conjunction with the firm's tax advisers, assist in the submission of the partner tax returns, payment of the tax liabilities, and reconciliation of the partner tax accounts.
- Assist in the co-ordination and preparation of the firm's annual budget, including liaising with departmental heads and other budget holders
This is an exceptional opportunity for a part qualified accountant to take the next step in progression or a solid QBE Accountant with a good all round experience. This role will also offer study support where required and the opportunity to take on increased responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
• An ability to absorb and analyse data in a timely and efficient manner
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with staff of all levels, particularly non-financial staff
• Ability to communicate effectively with strong written and oral skills
• Good technical knowledge and understanding of financial accounting systems, financial procedures and practices
• Strong problem solving and financial analysis skills
• It is essential that you have a firm understanding of Excel and the gravitas to engage the senior management team.
