One of the UK's largest integrated energy providers is currently looking to recruit a New Business Technology Manager to be based out of their Glasgow location.
Reporting directly to the Head of New Business Development in order to be considered you will have a detailed knowledge of the technical and economic performance of the range of available and developing micro technologies, including the ability to assess the technical specifications of these technologies, understanding the likely impacts and variations between technical design and field operation. The position would suit someone from an energy background who has an interest in technology. Some travel abroad will be expected so candidates must be flexible to do this.
Ideally you will come from a research background drawing on both UK and international case studies and practices.
You will hold a BSC degree in business, accounting or engineering discipline with experience within a retail utility environment, and previous experience of using technology to support business solutions or equivalent.
You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a particular emphasis on persuasion of others to a course of action based on sound reasoning. Demonstrable track record of effective communication and persuasion internally and externally.
You should also have a :
· Proven ability to influence senior decision makers both within company (MD and Directors) but also externally with Competitors and other key stakeholders (Technology providers) to a course of action
· Confidence in challenging convention with strong abilities to influence cross-functional teams and build relationships
· Change leader with experience of managing change initiatives across multiple sites and multiple cultures.
· Ability to prioritise work and deliver results whilst managing multiple stakeholders and competing demands within a rapidly changing environment
· Ability to create new technology partnerships and agreements to support business trials.
