Job Role: Employability Advisor
Salary Banding: £19,661 - £25,571.
Job Outline
To develop and delivery pre-employment opportunities to enable those furthest removed from the labour market, in particular lone parents to access employment, volunteering or training.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Support:
- Initial engagement with client to ascertain needs and develop the relationship between Client and Advisor.
- Assist client to identify his/her strengths, weaknesses and skills via the use of a range of diagnostic tools.
- Develop an Action Plan for each client accessing the service.
- Engage with unemployed clients in particular those on Incapacity Benefit with a view to progressing them into employment or training.
- Advice and on-going support for clients in job procurement and retention through regular caseload management.
Guidance:
- Advising on Training and/or Employment opportunities appropriate to the Client’s needs and preferences.
- Onward referral to partner agencies providing specialist provision of careers, employment, education and training information.
- Assisting clients with letters of application, application forms and compilation of C.V.’s. assistance with Interview and Job Search Techniques, including use of the telephone.
- Contacting clients on a regular basis to relay information on Jobs or Training Opportunities likely to be of interest to them and following up with client after Job Interviews.
- Providing an aftercare service for clients once they progress into work or training.
Employer Engagement:
- Establish and develop relationships with Employers to encourage them to employ individual clients supported through this service.
- To raise awareness of GWRA services to local Employers.
