Job Role: Schools Liaison Co-ordinator
Salary Banding: £19,661 - £25,571.
To co-ordinate and support the MCMC 16 + Schools within the West of the City, and be a representative of GWRA at the West Youth Employability Group (WYEG) This also includes providing a range of engagement and guidance services aimed at support those furthest from the labour market within the Glasgow West Area. Provide impartial, person centred support, guidance and advice to assist vulnerable young people (aged 16-25) through key transition stages and progress them into positive and sustainable outcomes: training, education and employment.
Specific Tasks: -
Lead support, and deliver local Secondary School programmes/services – for example Nurture Group Partnership Programme
Co ordinate Winter/Summer Leavers opportunities events
Promotion of the WYEG Post 16+ Youth Programmes – for example the WYEG Pre- GRFW Partnership Programme.
Attend and support WYEG meetings and be a GWRA representative on the NEET prevention sub group.
Attend and support School MCMC meetings
Carry out an Initial Assessment of vocational needs and complete an Action Plan with service users based on a person-centred planning approach and review on a regular basis. Client work to include:-
Initial registration of clients
Information gathering
Assessment of client needs using agreed structured procedures
Encourage positive attitudes towards training and employment
Production of Action Plan
Provide advice on career training opportunities
Record and Monitor client progress
Provide aftercare for clients that have progressed into employment
Coordinate the provision of in work grant funding
Manage caseload efficiently and effectively
Liaise with appropriate staff to allow joint case conferencing to develop, build and maintain positive relationships that help clients access appropriate support agencies in order to address the barriers preventing them entering training and employment.
Advocate on behalf of the client with other agencies
Encourage positive attitudes to education, training and employment through personal development and motivational programmes, either on a one to one basis or as part of group work including any joint partnership programmes
